Dear Family,
I have no more missionaries to write to, but some of you have expressed interest in having these letters continue, so I'll just write about how wonderful it is to have Hannah return honorably from her mission. From looking at her planner and listening to her experiences, I now know enough about missionary work to tell she was a great missionary. And on the way home from the airport she said she wanted to work with the missionaries here every day. She is happy and at peace and she finished well. She's not perfect--her bedroom is still a mess--but she has changed in so many meaningful ways. She smiles and greets everyone she sees and I get much better service when she's with me: three young men at Costco brought our groceries out and loaded them in the car!
She arrived in Manila late Wednesday night and was the last person to come out. I can't even express how wonderful it was to see her again. It must be how our parents will feel when we return from our mission in this life--so happy and proud of us and glad to be together again! Sam has ten days of sales training to do in the Philippines and arranged them to be here to greet her. Derrick and Julie and Ransom flew in Wednesday afternoon and were there at the airport, too. We didn't bring signs or balloons, but we may have screamed and called out to her when we finally saw her--lots of people were staring at us.
President Smith, released her via Skype Thursday morning and we spent the day together while Stewart went back to work at the mission. Actually, we spent the next three days, and Saturday Sam joined us. Today we went to Camarin 2nd Ward where her MTC batch mate who returned Friday spoke in her sacrament meeting. And this morning Sage arrived from Utah to spend the week with her. I'm not sure she could be any happier!
Love,
