It was great to be together! Of course, we really missed Julie, but appreciate her sacrifice -- and Derrick's in bringing all five children with him and being such a good sport. Not much has happened since you all left. Hannah and Sage returned safely and although Hannah is still sick, she slept a lot. We enjoyed the result of Dan accidentally leaving his passports and missing his flight and coming to the mission home again yesterday to stay for a few hours. It's always hard to say goodbye, but doing it two days in a row with the same people was worth it just to have a few more hours with them.
I LOVE two hour church! We also went to a Philippines Area Broadcast tonight. We're back to work and will celebrate Dan's birthday tomorrow by beginning Dad's next round of zone interviews. The nursing continues. Heaven on earth is being with family and having NO NURSING CALLS! I'm sending a missionary to the ER with a swollen knee, blood and pus oozing from the sore and a fever, chills and severe pain. I'm really thankful the other missionaries are mostly healthy. I put this one off and told him to wait and see if it gets worse...and it really did.
Seeing the photo of the snowstorm on the way back to Oberageri made me thankful to live in such warm place.
I'm including some of my favorite photos from the week. The baptism and time in the temple were highlights for me. But every moment with family counts. And Sam being so happy about Celeste changing her mind and coming--that was a shock and a highlight.
We love you and are so pleased we could be together. The Lord is so very kind to us. Now we are praying for the safe arrival of Julie and Derrick's new daughter!!
Love,
Mom
PS: Never mind about the favorite photos. There are too many of them. These are the ones I could easily find. There are LOTS more. I'm glad I have a permanent record on Telegram. The one around the mission home table is a bound copy of a journal of Grandpa Hughes that Sarah typed and Julie edited and Fenton published with photos and a beautiful binding for Dad for Christmas.
